Recycle Your Old Cell Phone
We are in the process of trashing our planet in ways we would not have thought possible 20 years ago. Everytime I see somebody walking down the street sucking on bottled water I wonder if they have a clue how long that plastic container will be around long after they are gone.
In these posts I have encouraged others to think about recycling things as a way of making a living. Most people spend a good part of their life working. Maybe if individuals knew there was some benefit to be had recycling things they might be more inclined to recycle. Better yet if we would just hold on to things a little longer instead of buying the latest gadget we wouldn't be so concerned with the trash that is piling up. I have had my cell phone for three years and it works just as well as they day I got it.
Smart people are always saying if you want to solve a problem find a need and satisfy it. There is definitely a need to find a way to recycle and reuse what we have. People seem concerned about the environment but many times don't know what to do to improve the situation.
If you belong to a organization that supports a worthy cause consider raising funds for them by setting up locations where people can drop off their old cell phones. There are companies that will work with you in setting up a cell phone recycling drive. One you have collected all those old cell phones you can turn them in and get paid and your organization will have some funds for their next worthy cause.
